Yogi Prakash Shankar Vyas

Yogi Prakash Shankar Vyas (Guruji) is of the same lineage as Sri Paramahansa Yogananda (author of Autobiography of a Yogi). He was initiated and authorised to pass on the science of Kriya Yoga by Sri Satya Charan Lahiri (the grandson of Mahayogi Lahiri Mahasaya).

The path of Kriya Yoga requires enormous discipline and commitment and is not a practice to be undertaken lightly. Besides the life stories of the masters in Lahiri Mahasaya's direct lineage, Kriya Yoga: Four Spiritual Masters and a Beginner by Heidi Wyder clearly explains what Kriya practice involves. It is packed with spiritual discussions with Guruji, and through the many examples and stories the devotee will be able to establish whether their motivation to learn from him is genuine.

Yogi Prakash Shankar Vyas, better known to his students as "Guruji", is an internationally recognised Kriya Yogi and spiritual master from Varanasi, India. His students from around the world share remarkable stories of positive and profound change in their lives, having learned yoga from him.

In October 2007 Guruji was awarded the Distinguished Talent Visa for his status as spiritual master and he now lives and teaches at the Kashi Kriya Yoga Centre in Gisborne, Victoria. However, he still travels abroad to see his disciples, and makes return trips to India whenever he can.
